It came out of a local estate sale and has its first glasses and untouched grunge surface on all mahogany parts, including its original finial. It was obviously used and cared for, as we found two cards by local Rhode Island clockmakers who serviced it, and were based where the estate sale took place in Rhode Island. | |

| sw01304: A Cherry Queen Anne Tall Case Clock with Silver Dial, Rhode Island, Squire Millard, c.1750 This is a tall country clock was produced by Squire Millard, whose listing indicates he fought in the revolutionary war. The dial is a beautifully-engraved silver over brass, and indicates Millard resided in Warwick, which is about 10 miles South of Providence, RI. The cherry has turned a beautiful lemon yellow/brown, and movement and case are original in every way. This clock came out of a local Rhode Island estate auction. | |
| sw01297: A Queen Anne Black Japanned Tall Case Clock, England, 18th century. Clock works by Henton Brown, London This is a good sized Queen Anne tall case clock retaining an early Japanned surface in the Chinese motif. The case was restored some time ago, and is in fine condition. The movement is an 8 day brass works by a good recognized English Clock maker. Brittan's Clock Directory lists the maker as follows: "Henton Brown - Borough. Admitted C.C. 1726; Master, 1753; Livery, 1766; A maker of fine watches; 58 Lombard St. in 1754". | |
| sw00876: A Mahogany Tall Case Clock by Walter Durfee, Providence, RI, c.1900 This clock is a rather short tall case clock and is stylized on English models with the bonnet of the upper case being closely circumscribed along the round brass bezel which is further echoed by the round dome-shaped glass of the side lights that look allow view of the movement. This is an eight day clock with a beautiful movement of which the plates of the movement are machine-tooled and stamped, "Walter H. Durfee", as is the dial. | |
| sw00509: Mahogany Tall Case (Grandfather) Clock with Moon Dial, Dated, c. 1910 This clock has a very engaging dial with well-painted moon. The case is solid mahogany with corner columns top and bottom and the shell carved central door. It is a superb looking clock with is commanding in appearance and has it’s original paper label in the back giving it an especial completeness. The wood is of the highest quality and has it solid, vibrant striping, which is unusual, considering there are no veneers. | |
